Vincent Ibonye is an Assistant Research Fellow in the Division of African Politics and Integration. Previously a Political Aide with the Office of the Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Vincent’s experience includes policy-related research and public policy management. Vincent’s main interests are in the geopolitics of old and rising powers, statecraft and diplomacy, cost-benefit discourses on global political economy, resource governance/politics, combating terrorism and addressing discordant development in Africa. He has attended a number of international conferences and forums in these fields, and has worked with scholars in other disciplines of migration, Chinese and Asian studies, development and strategic studies. Presently his work focuses on democracy and alternative governance systems, managing economic cooperation in the global regime, etc. Scholarly journals he has published in include among others, International Area Studies Review, Kritika Kultura, Nigerian Journal of International Studies, and the Constitution.
